About Sureya
I work with individuals, couples, and families who find themselves caught in the same patterns of conflict, distance, or distress, often without being able to say exactly how they got there. Many of these cycles have deep roots. They may trace back to adverse childhood experiences or to significant relationships, or they may have built up gradually over years until they feel almost impossible to interrupt.
I am particularly drawn to relationship-focused work because our closest relationships shape so much of our emotional well-being. Whether you are coming on your own, with a partner, or as a family, we will look closely at the cycle between you rather than placing the problem on any one person. I also work with young adults navigating life transitions, questions of identity, and anxiety, at a point when the expectations of others and your own sense of direction may be pulling in different ways.
My aim is to offer a space where you can explore what you need and come to understand yourself and your relationships more clearly. I believe meaningful change begins with feeling understood and supported, so the work is collaborative from the first session and oriented toward goals that are concrete enough to recognize when they begin to shift.
Sureya's therapeutic philosophy
I combine cognitive behavioural therapy with attachment-based and trauma-informed approaches. Together we look at how earlier experiences continue to shape your reactions and relationships now, while also working directly with the challenges in front of you and setting individualized goals that support sustainable change.
In couples and family work, we identify the cycle that keeps repeating, slow it down, and practise responding differently before the familiar pattern takes over. I provide all sessions virtually, so you can meet with me from home or any private space anywhere in Ontario.

Sureya provides virtual sessions only, through KDW Counselling’s secure video platform. You can connect from home or any private space, as long as you are located in Ontario at the time of your session.
